“Not only am I a therapist, I’m also a maker, a baker, and a stereotypical pacific northwest human. I take my beloved chacos on backpacking trips and literally hug trees.”
Allison Berl, LPC
I believe healing happens through connection. My goal is to create that connection with clients through warmth, authenticity, and transparency. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or impersonal—it should be a space where you can exhale, show up exactly as you are, and maybe even crack a joke (dark humor welcome).
I was drawn to this work because of my deep interest in how the mind works and my own experiences navigating mental health challenges. For a long time, I felt lost and stuck in patterns that left me discouraged. Therapy became a transformative experience for me, which eventually evolved into a passion to help others create their own paths to healing and growth.
As a Queer, neurodivergent (hello, ADHD brain) therapist with lived experience, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to the work. I value honesty, creativity, and embracing the beautifully messy parts of being human.
For those of you that have had bad experiences with therapy in the past, I hear you and I totally get it. I’m here to create a space that feels different—a place where you feel safe, supported, and hopeful. Let’s get started—you’ve got this, and I’ve got your back.
“the purpose of a rose is to be a rose. Your purpose is to be yourself. You don’t have to run anywhere to become someone else. You are wonderful just as you are.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh
I navigate the world as a white, U.S. citizen who is able-bodied, cisgender, queer, neurodivergent, and highly educated. I recognize that my race, citizenship, physical ability, gender alignment, and educational background afford me significant privileges, while my queerness and neurodivergence bring unique perspectives and challenges to my experiences. It’s important to me to continually reflect on these identities and take responsibility for how they influence the way I show up in and navigate the world.
